About Henry (The Doctor) Salmon – Keyboard tutor

Henry started to learn the Piano at the age of seven, however it was not until he heard the brilliant Roy Bittan on the piano in Meatloaf’s ‘Bat Out of Hell’ and Dire Straits’ ‘Making Movies’, that he decided to hang up the football boots (at least for a few years) and concentrate on the Piano.

Henry attended Stratford College completing a BTEC ND in Popular Music, which gave him the opportunity to learn and experience many different styles from Irish music to contemporary art music.

After completing his degree at Dartington College of Arts, Henry wrote and recorded a solo album incorporating his love of rock, jazz and classical music.

Since leaving university Henry has been busy composing pieces for television documentaries as well his own solo album. Henry performs regularly in local bands as well as with a band from Plymouth called The Turn. Henry also plays at the Baptist Church in Chipping Campden, where with vocal coach Anna Stamp, he started Solid Ground Gospel Choir.

Over the past two years Henry has completed his Qualified Teacher Status at Winchcombe School and now looks forward to teaching Piano and Keyboard at The Musical Box.
