The Musical Box on Tour

The Musical Box will be teaching in both Stratford High School and Bridgetown Primary from September, so any parents who would like to their children involved in fun and inspiring music lessons please to get in touch with us via the contact details below and on our contact us page.

The Musical Box are available to book during school hours to come into your school an inspire your pupils in a variety of ways!

TMB On Tour offers a range of services to schools;
  • One-to-one lessons in school on guitar, bass guitar and drums
  • Demonstrations to individual classes or assemblies
  • Workshops to groups with perfomance opportunities
  • Professional live band perfomances in school
  • Working alongside the music teacher in class to bring a different dimension to a session

Music generally as an interest is a very healthy hobby but unfortunately not so often looked at as additional career option. We would like to make this more of a reality and open yet another door to all children.

Booking info
Prices are variable depending on length of the workshop or demo. Workshops can be booked for any time during the school day. The workshop length can vary anywhere between 2hrs to an all day event. Workshops start at £50 per teacher (or per instrument). Workshops can also be booked in a course...for instance, one day a week for a whole term with the aim of a perfomance to parents at the end of it. These can be a great, modern alternative to the classic 'school music evening'.

testimonials from schools
Dormer House School
The Music Box have been teaching pupils of Dormer House School since September 2010 in drums, guitar and piano. The children really enjoy the lessons and numbers of children wanting lessons have progressively increased. All three teachers are warm and friendly and have built up good relationships with their pupils.

One pupil quoted “ I really enjoy them, I have a good instructor who really knows what he is doing. I am making (in my opinion) quite good progress and am really getting all I can out of my lessons”.

Kitebrook House School
Kitebrook house has employed The Musical Box staff for some time now in Drums and Guitar and we are very happy with the quality of the lessons and the good level of interaction with the children.

Lessons are well executed and enjoyable, and the children always reports how much fun they had! We shall be happy to continue with our association with The Musical Box.
Sandy Johnston
Head of Music - Kitebrook House School

Bridgetown School
The Musical Box are an enthusiastic bunch committed to making music fun, while at the same time giving pupils experiences of a variety of sounds and opportunities to develop their individual skills much further.

They have the capacity to offer exciting workshops, one in particular being a focus on percussion and rhythm which engages the participants and audience alike. Making use of large carpet tubes and drum sticks to create lively rhythm patterns gives hope and ideas to establishments who can’t afford expensive equipment!

The responses from pupils and staff showed that “The Musical Box” presentation was pitched at just the right level.

Welcombe Hills School
Welcombe Hills pupils had a great time when the Musical Box Rockathon came to school on Red Nose Day. They were invited to join the musicians in their music making rockathon; younger pupils played simple percussion instruments with members of The Musical Box while our older student band members played on guitar and drums.

All pupils were encouraged to sing along and join in the fun. The Musical Box band encouraged everyone to take part at their own level and made music accessible to all.
