2009 was another very successful year for The Musical Box with more students than every taking drum, guitar and bass lessons at the Alderminster studio and all of them progressing in leaps and bounds on their chosen intruments.

What better way therefore than to end the year with another Musical Box Christmas Party? A chance for the whole Musical Box community to come together to entertain and be entertained with on stage performances by numerous students, The Musical Box teachers and even a special guest star!

Yes, The Musical Box's 2009 Christmas Party was again a great success and kicked off with a special acoustic performance by Simon Fowler, the lead singer of Ocean Colour Scene.. Simon spoke of how having travelled the world as part of a successful band, he remembers his early musical experiences with a group of mates at school, and how The Musical Box is providing such excellent facilities and opportunities for young musicians to fulfil their own potential. Simon then kindly performed with some of the students, leaving them with a memorable experience and hopefully with some extra inspiration to take into 2010!

The evening then show cased a number of students through individual and group performances and they certainly all made their parents and teachers proud. Some are shown in the pictures below and to the right so please do scroll down to take a look. The pictures also show the Teachers band who came together to perform a set of songs at the end of the party.

Special Thanks go out to all those who helped with the event as so much work went into rehearsals, setting up the room and of course putting on the food and drink for the evening. Also, thanks to Line 6 who will be sponsoring The Musical Box in 2010 and who kindly provided equipment for the evening, contributing greatly to the sound quality and in turn the students enjoyment of playing on stage.
