Customer Surveys

Each year, here at The Musical Box, we ask our students and parents to participate in a general survey so that we can gather important information about how we are doing as a musical team.

We take the information gathered from them and use it to make our Rock School even better!

We ask about how each teacher is doing, whether they are inspiring in lessons, if the student is able to clearly understand tasks that are asked of them, as well as if they feel they are making any progress. As each teacher works individually with the student and it is hard for our administration to see how those lessons are going, this is our window into each lesson given so we can make sure that all on staff with us are nothing less than exceptional!

We also take this time to ask how people feel our studio is run as a whole, regarding organization, cleanliness and reliability. It is important for us to hear this information from outside sources.

After each studio’s surveys are gathered, we then go through each one of them to evaluate the information. We gather up all of the good and the bad and do what we can to make all changes necessary to ensure successful, inspiring lessons to any and all who walk through our doors.

This year, to our delight, we had more compliments and praises for staff and services than suggestions!

We did see a few areas that needed attention, such as a few pieces of new equipment; drum stools, cymbals and music stands, which we have already sorted.

The Musical Box are scheduling a full staff meeting to discuss all of the workings of TMB. We feel that it is necessary to keep every member of the team well versed in how things work, the necessary points to cover with each student (i.e. weekly diary communication, uniforms and nametags for identification, ways how and how not to communicate with students and schools about scheduling lessons, etc)

We are also going to be having a Grade Exam Workshop for all of our teachers, to help us all become well versed in how our board exams work and run. We have various students on different platforms, but we want to make sure that 100% of our staff are well aware of how Rock School Grade Exams work- knowing what each student needs to have with them, have learned and by when. Rock School Grade Exams are the standard curriculum that The Musical Box has chosen to use throughout the studio. That is not to say that students are not welcome to use another board, such as ABRSM, or Trinity for example- but the dates and specific requirements for these will be able up to the specific student and teacher to discuss.

This Exam Workshop is a new thing for us to do, but we want to make sure that each of our teachers are updated on the curriculum we use across the board.

The Musical Box has had over 1,000 students and each of them have taught us how to more successfully run a school of music. We are here to serve students who crave to learn and experience music. Through open communication with each person involved in the process, we can better understand how to meet the individual needs of students while also helping keep The Musical Box running well!

We want to thank all of those who were involved in the survey process, and have published the results and our answers to each topic brought up. You can find the link here:

The Musical Box would like to let everyone know that we our doors are always open for communication, whether it be a simple question, or a specific need or concern. We want to ensure that each person leaves our studios feeling that they want to come back. Please feel free to message or call a member of our team if you’ve got something you would like to discuss with us!

Keep Rocking out there.

See you next week
