RockSchool Exams

The Deadline to register for a RockSchool Grade Exam is quickly approaching!

It will close this Sunday, October 1st, 2017.

The process to get your student registered for an exam is really quite painless and only takes a few moments.

We have written this blog as a step by step guide as to what to do, if you are unsure of how to register.

Hopefully, you’ve already got an account with www.rslawards.com which is also www.RockSchool.co.uk, making sign-in easier, if not, no worries, you will need to enter  information to get this process going.

Some of the RockSchool books have their website listed as www.rockschool.co.uk, which will automatically direct you to their updated site, which is www.rslawards.com

SO, HOW DO I REGISTER FOR AN EXAM?

When you are ready, student and parents need to log on to the RSL website , Go to MUSIC tab,

Then ENTER ONLINE. Here you will need to make an account, or Log- IN if you already have one.

Your first page will ask you about who you are, you would say Candidate, or Parent (as the TMB Teachers do not enter students in for exams)

Sign up for an Instrument exam and make sure that you check that you live in the UK!

On the second page, you will be asked to fill in basic contact information about yourself, select what Grade level, what instrument and also be able to mark dates in which you are NOT available for testing within the blocked window dates for exams.

There is a box here where you can write any adjustments that need to be made, if you have any special testing needs.

You’ll then be asked to enter more basic contact information such as address and making a password, and then be taken to a page about testing centres.

Students have two options, of Selecting the nearest centre or clicking on “other”

Students are asked to use the option for RockSchool to “Select a Centre for Me” which will automatically enter you in for an exam at the closest centre to your home location.

If you click “other” and specify a centre name or your school, you will be allocated an exam date but it could be months or even years away, because RockSchool will wait until there are enough students to give an exam in that location. They have been known to not contact students in this instance, so to avoid confusion, let Rock School choose your centre.

Should any of you face any issues while trying to register, it is best to contact RockSchool directly, and their phone number (which they actually answer) is 0345 460 4747

After you have finished registering, you will wait for a confirmation e-mail from RockSchool with your exam date, time and location. PLEASE share this information with your teacher as well! And remember to keep practicing!
