Women In Music

The 7th of March marked International Women’s Day.

Recently, heightened by the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, women all over the world have gathered in support of each other. The world has seen numerous rallies, all sending the same message - Women want fundamental rights.

A local Oxfordshire A Cappella group, The Oxford Belles, which happens to be all women, gathered and put together a music video to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Using the music of Cyndi Lauper’s girls anthem “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,” this group of young ladies add messages of hope and inspiration, presented by women in their community who are inspiring to them.

Here at the Musical Box we have an abundance of strong confident female teachers, who’s aim is to help young, budding musicians to find confidence and strength within themselves through music and performing.

We love the fact we have as many female as male students and we love we have both female and male teachers too.

Nice one 'the girls'!
