Workshops and Band sessions

Bands

We believe that playing in a band is an incredibly rewarding experience. It’s a way of making life-long friends, experiencing the buzz of playing live, meeting new people and it’s also a fantastic way of honing your playing skills.

That’s why we hold weekly band days and a variety of other workshops where players (young and old) can refine their muso “life skills”.

The sessions are fun, informal and we match up player levels so no one feels out of their depth. If you’d like to get involved, just get in touch!

Workshops

WHAT PEOPLE WHO TAKE PART SAY –

“A and I had a fantastic 4th workshop session last night, and James recorded us singing a few lines of ‘ A Thousand Years’, by Christina Perri. He also did a bit of video to go with it, which is great!
James even suggested he should record A and I singing the whole song, which would be fine with me!
😁Have a nice weekend, as it’s almost here.”

“The clip of me on social medai attempting to replicate Hal Blaine’s work on Phil Spector’s Wall of Sound recording of the Ronettes “Be my Baby” led me to find out more about him and I was astonished to discover that he played on many of my favourite recordings of the 60’s and 70’s from Frank Sinatra, Neil Diamond, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beach boys and Tina Turners “River Deep Mountain High.” This new knowledge led me to me finding out more about other drummers, including Steve Gadd, Charlie Watts, John Bonham and of course Ringo Starr. So how and where did I find all this information?

TMB DRUM TEACHER ZAC.

Zac’s a walking encyclopaedia of all things drumming and drummers.

His knowledge and enthusiasm about his subject is all embracing and I’ve learned so much including about drum kits having attended three of his workshops on the care and maintenance of drums. The three sessions were fascinating and I now know how to change and tune the heads of snare, bass, and floor toms, not that I expect to be doing it personally a great deal!

But, if you’re a young and a keen drummer get to one of Zac’s workshops and learn more about the care and maintenance of your instruments. If there’s one thing I’ve learned in a fairly long life (I’m 83 this year), It’s that it’s important to look after the people and things you really care about. Zac manages to do both with great success and drumming now rivals golf as my favourite hobby!”
