The Musical Box is a contemporary music school on two sites, one just outside Stratford upon Avon and the other just outside Bicester.

We teach private 1-1 music lessons to students of all ages and abilities at our studios and within schools during the day. We also offer other activities such as ‘band days’ and performance opportunities.

TMB vacancies are listed below BUT we are always on the lookout for talented musicians / teachers who can provide high quality teaching in a fun yet professional way. You don’t necessarily need to be a qualified teacher but you do need to be a professional musician, have a warm personality and a desire to teach. Experienced Piano Teacher Required (Self-Employed)

We are looking for a reliable, experienced piano teacher to join our friendly music studio in Bicester, Oxfordshire.

The role:

Teaching piano to children and/or adults (levels dependent on experience)
Lessons delivered at our Fritwell / Bicester-based studio
Regular weekly work available (with potential to expand)

Essential requirements:

Piano skills to an expert level
Good communication skills and a professional, friendly manner
Own car and ability to travel reliably to Bicester
DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Punctual, organised, and dependable

Desirable but not essential:

Grade 8 piano (or equivalent)
Music degree or teaching qualification
Experience preparing students for exams (ABRSM / Trinity etc.)

Contemporary DRUM Teacher Required – 19.012.25

TMB are looking to recruit a CONTEMPORARY DRUM teacher to work at our Stratford Studio.

The Musical Box is a well established music school with teaching studios in both Oxfordshire and Warwickshire. TMB teaches contemporary music lessons in Singing, drums, guitar, bass guitar, piano and ukulele. All lessons are 1 to 1.

We currently have one evening ready to start and can fill other evenings should the candidate want more work. Start April / May 2025. Hours are to be built up to suit both TMB and the teacher as will be agreed. Work is available as soon as checks are completed.

All applicants will need an Enhanced DBS and TMB will arrange for this check to be done with the applicants permission.

Transport is essential to get from place to place. Our studios are quite rural.

Passionate about teaching and music with an ability to make all lessons fun whilst making progress
Good communications skills both with students and with the TMB management team.
An upbeat personality and ability to inspire and a passion for music
Highly skilled musician
