About Evan

Evan is a professional percussionist with over 15 years experience recording and touring across the UK, EU, US and Russia. He is most well known as a bodhran (Irish Frame Drum) and kit player in the UK Folk and European Progressive scenes. He has performed with award winning acts: Kate Rusby, Flook, Seth Lakeman, Sir Bryn Terfel and the West End production of Come From Away. His current bands include Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys (Folk), The Drystones (Folk Electronica), Iamthemorning (Prog/Metal) and Nobodies Wolf Child (Dark Pop). 

Evan was lucky enough to start playing music from a very young age under the mentorship of percussionist Damien Manning (The Lion King West End).
He studied everything from traditional samba at The Paraiso School of Samba (UK/Brazil) to Folk and Metal with world renowned tutors Cormac Byrne and Pat Garvey earning a BA hons Degree in Professional Musicianship from The University of Sussex in the process. 

When not performing and composing, Ev's real passion is for teaching and specialises in tutoring for Kit, Percussion, Composition and Music Theory. His students are aged anywhere between 7 and 73 and he loves working with ability levels and can cater to a variety of SEN orientated needs.
 
He fronts his own solo work and his debut album OCIPINSKI was released in 2019. He is currently an artist for Istanbul Agop Cymbals, SE Electronics and Vater Sticks UK. Ev is rarely seen without a cup of coffee in one hand and no one has ever seen what's under the hat (It's probably hair, but who knows?)
