The Arts

Firstly, a massive thank you for your support over the past few months. Closing the studios and moving to online lessons was not easy for us but it worked and we are now back in action at the studios but now we also offer online lessons nationally removing the geographic boundry that we used to have.

Whilst we have all had to adapt to a new normal and we are probably all sick of hearing that phrase, the Arts have suffered more than any other industry during this pandemic. I realise pubs and cafes are suffering again due to the second lockdown in Wales and in local lockdown areas BUT the arts have never re-opened. We have parents who are lighting engineers, stage managers, friends who are musicians and actors, and we have seen their diaries empty since March 2020. This is not going to recover anytime soon. Theatres and venues are still closed, Comedians, actors, dancers, stage production teams and musicians are looking at zero bookings for the forseeable future.

What can we all do to help?

Music and theatre are so important to us all even if you don't realise it! If you have a spotify account or netflix or sky or just a TV you are using the services of musicians, actors, writers, producers all the time. We rely on these things to relax and have fun, to learn and inspire. So how about learing an instrument or encouraging your children to?

How about getting that guitar or uke or drum kit or keyboard out of the corner of the room and letting TMB either teach you to play it or pass it on (with a clean up and fix) to a sutdent who would love to have one but hasn't got one?

Think of the artists who are out of work currently and understand how much time, practice, effort and dedication it took to be able to sing, dance, act, play as well as they do. It doesn't come easily. It takes years of work.

Register the talent and skill in your head when you are wathcing and appreciate it more.

What else can you do?

How about passing on our name to schools, friends and family suggesting us and using word of mouth to get people out and about again, having one to one music lessons with our amazing teachers?

How about telling your musicain friends to get in touch with us and send us their CV incase we can pass some work their way.

How about buying a voucher or a whole course of lessons for a family member or friend for Christmas?

And how about you follow us on Facebook, Instagram and twitter and share our posts every time so we maximise the audience we are playing to.

Celebrate the ARTS..... enjoy what we do...... let the ballerina be a ballerina when Covid is under control.......

Whatever you choose to do.....HELP..... and be partly responsible for growing the next generation ot musicians and creative people by joining TMB or another arts based club/ society.

Get involved !!

Best wishes,

Tim, Paula and the whole TMB team xxx
