Video lessons
We believe that all people should have the opportunity to pick up an instrument and learn a new skill that is rewarding and a lot of fun! That is why we have decided, partly due to adapting during COVID-19, but mostly due to the fact that we believe in opening doors to anyone who wants lessons, that we shall now offer live and recorded lessons to anyone who either doesn’t want to come to the studio or can’t get there for any reason.
We are hoping that easier access via our online lessons means that we can offer our high quality teaching to anyone who is restricted by time, has no transport, has a special need that restricts them from coming to the studio or would rather just be taught in the comfort of their own home. Video lessons are not restricted by location, so as long as you can speak English, have a musical instrument and we can sort out a convenient time, then get booked in and experience 5 star lessons with our experienced TMB teachers!

How it will work
We aim to make all of our lessons as enjoyable and as effective as possible, so that students of all ages (and parents!) alike can be satisfied with the quality of our lessons, while also making sure that everyone has a good time.
Live Video Lessons
If you choose the option of taking live video lessons, your teacher will ring you via video call at a time that you will have arranged with The Musical Box team in advance of your lesson. This works almost exactly like a 1 to 1 lesson at the studio, the only difference being that you are on a call, and not sitting in front of your teacher. You are still able to receive live feedback from your teachers about your progress and ask them any questions that you want to. If you cannot make a lesson, don’t worry! We will record you a lesson and send it you so you will never miss one.
Recorded Video Lessons
Alternatively, you can choose to receive video lessons each week as your actual lessons, which we aim to send to you as close to your lesson time as we can. This gives you the option to pause the lesson and rewind when and where you want to so that you are able to go over things again, and pick what you focus on in the lesson. If you chose half an hour lessons, then you will receive one 15 minute video, which when you sit and work through it will take at least 30 minutes to complete. You can repeat this lesson as many times as you wish. With a one-hour lesson, we would send you two 15 minute videos which equate to 1 hours tuition with your playing time included.
Greater Access to TMB
The team here at TMB believe in making sure that our lessons are adapted for each individual student to make sure that they are happy with the lessons that they receive and they enjoy learning something new. And we believe that with effective communication between students and teachers and with the aid of advances in technology, we can make our live and video lesson options as interactive, enjoyable and informative as our one to one lessons, opening up the doors to a wider audience.
