What’s the difference between ‘inexpensive’ guitars and the well-known major brands?

In truth, not as much as you might think!

Sure, the components are not quite of the same quality, nor the woods; but mostly cheaper guitars fail to deliver because they are poorly put together making them difficult to play, difficult to tune and impossible to keep in tune.

That’s why so many cheap guitars end up gathering dust.

But with the right knowledge and a bit of care, these guitars can be made to perform almost as well as expensive ones with an ‘easy to play’ action and strings that stay in tune - all the way up the fretboard.

All these ‘Restoration Workshop’ guitars have been salvaged from a dusty corner, stripped, cleaned and rebuilt with new components where needed.  Then they all receive a perfect ‘set-up’ to ensure an easy action and accurate intonation; in other words they are adjusted to play beautifully.

Elevation ‘Strat’ in black with ivory pickguard.
