Loop station lessons

Loop Station? What’s a Loop Pedal or a Loop station?

They are quickly becoming one of the coolest pieces of technology to add to your instrument of choice. Here at TMB, we have a Guitar Teacher, Scott Hardwick, who will now be offering lessons in how to use a loop station with YOUR guitar! Getting started can be one of the trickiest parts, but Scott is here to help make it stress-free!

Loop pedals have been around for quite some time now. They are used to help an artist record a melody or chord progression, then have it play back, so they can then add another layer onto that first lick. There are loop pedals on the market now to fit anyone’s musical needs.

You can find them for guitar, voice, stringed instruments; even most new keyboards have loop capabilities!

A basic loop pedal, single channel is a great way to open the door to new musical possibilities. They are versatile pieces of technology that helps an artist capture an idea and expand on that. You can start with a bass line, then add melody number 1, then melody number 2- after that is done, then you can sing over the top of it all! There are so many possibilities!

The video below is an introduction to the top 5 Loop Pedals for Guitar on a budget! Give it a watch:

Here is a video of the other end of the spectrum, of someone using a multiple pedals with multiple channels!

And lastly, this is a really cool introductory video which shows how simple it can be to really start adding multi-dimensional sounds to your music! The dude even shows himself playing with both acoustic and electric instruments, for those of us who think it can only really be used on one or the other!
Enjoy! And If YOU are interested in starting your own Loop Journey, let TMB’s very own Scott Hardwick help! Get in touch about signing up for Loop Pedal Lessons!
